Your design, your dimensions, your cloth. It is not an upgrade, it is simply how we work. You pay for the piece, not the privilege.
One piece or a whole house
A single armchair is as welcome as furnishing three bedrooms. We take small commissions seriously because most of them turn into larger ones.
You can change your mind
Because it is built by hand, in stages, we can adjust mid build. Lower the arms, firm up the seat, change the piping. A factory could not.
Most people do not know what they are allowed to ask for.
So here is the whole list. Every one of these is yours to decide, and none of them changes the way we quote. Choose what you know, skip what you do not, and send it to us as a starting point. We will fill in the rest.

Most commissions here start as a screenshot. Something seen in a hotel, a friend's living room, or halfway down an Instagram feed at midnight. Send it. We will tell you honestly what we can match, what we would change, and what would cost you more than it is worth.
We are not copying anybody's furniture. We are building yours, in your size, in your cloth, for your room.

We measure to your room
Your space decides the dimensions, not the photograph. We check the doorway and the lift before anything is cut.
You approve the frame
Before upholstery, while it is still bare timber and everything can still change.

The riskiest thing about commissioning furniture is that you hand over money for something that does not exist yet, and by the time you see it, it is covered. Every fault is sealed inside.
So we do it the other way round. You are invited to the workshop while your piece is still a bare hardwood frame. Press the joints. Look at the timber. Say if the arms sit too high. Nothing is hidden, because nothing is finished.
You are told when it is framed
We message you at the frame stage, not after. Come the same week if you can.
Nothing is upholstered without your word
If you cannot visit, we send photographs and wait for you to say go ahead.
Changes at this stage are normal
Arm height, seat depth, back angle. Adjusting now costs almost nothing. Adjusting later costs a rebuild.
You see the materials, not a claim
The timber, the foam grade and the fill are all visible before they disappear under fabric.
We would rather lose the sale than build you something you will resent.
Commissioning goes wrong when the maker agrees to everything. These are the conversations we have regularly, and we would rather have them before you pay than after you take delivery.
Pale linen in a house with a toddler and a dog is a decision you will regret by month four. We will show you something that looks similar, feels similar and wipes clean.
Before we cut anything we ask for your doorway, your lift and the turn on your staircase. A seven seater that cannot enter the building is nobody's idea of a good outcome.
Some shapes are having a moment. If you are buying a piece to keep for a decade, we will say so, then build whichever you choose. It is your room.
Some details add real comfort. Others only add cost. We will tell you which is which, even when the more expensive answer would suit us better.
The yellow seven seater.
A client arrived wanting yellow. Not mustard, not muted, not the safe version. A bright, confident, unmissable yellow. Most makers would have talked her down to something beige.
Instead we built the five seater, so the three and the two, in the yellow she wanted, then made two single seats in royal blue to complete a seven seater. The blue grounds the yellow and stops the room shouting. It remains one of the most elegant sets ever to leave this workshop.
The lesson we took from it: the bold choice usually just needs a second colour to hold it steady.

No. Your design, your dimensions, your fabric and your colour are included in the price of the piece. We are a workshop, not a retailer adapting stock, so building to your specification is simply how the work is done here.
Yes, and it is how most commissions start. Send it on WhatsApp. We will tell you what we can match closely, what we would adapt, and whether the design will actually be comfortable, which photographs never reveal.
You are encouraged to. We contact you at the frame stage while the piece is still bare timber. Come to the workshop, press the joints, check the proportions. If you cannot visit, we send photographs and wait for your approval before upholstering.
This is exactly why the frame stage exists. By the time a piece is upholstered, you have already approved the shape, the size and the fabric. Genuine faults are covered by six months of free after sales support, and we would come and put it right.
Often, yes. Bring a photograph and, if you can, a small offcut of the fabric or a cushion. Matching an existing set exactly is harder than people expect, so we will be honest about how close we can get before you commit.
Beds and upholstered headboards, dining tables and chairs, coffee and side tables, stools, display stands, office and reception seating, and scatter cushions to match. Tables and stands are built in mahogany. If you are unsure whether we can make something, ask.
